In 1957, Egypt became the first country to win Africa’s most prestigious football trophy known as the Africa Cup of Nations. The Africa Cup of Nations, the premier football competition in Africa, was first held in 1957.

Since then, Egypt is Africa’s most successful team and Africa Cup of Nations winner with 7 titles, which is more than any other African country.
