With the FIFA World Cup 2022 just around the corner, all 32 participating teams have announced their captains and coaches.
For hosts Qatar, striker Hassan Al-Haydos will serve as captain while Felix Sanchez Bas will be the head coach. Ali was a key member of Qatar’s successful Asian Cup campaign in 2019, scoring nine goals to help his side lift the trophy.
Bas, meanwhile, has been in charge of Qatar since 2016 and led the team to their best-ever finish at the 2022 World Cup, where they reached the last 16.
Argentina’s captain will be Lionel Messi while coach Lionel Scaloni will hope to lead the team to glory. Messi is Argentina’s all-time leading goalscorer and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
Scaloni, meanwhile, has been in charge of Argentina since 2018 and will be hoping to lead the team to their first World Cup triumph since 1986.
Brazil’s captain will be Neymar while coach Tite will look to lead the team to a record-extending sixth World Cup title. Neymar is Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer and is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world.
Tite has been in charge of Brazil since 2016 and led the team to their best-ever finish at the 2018 World Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals.
Germany’s captain will be Manuel Neuer while coach Joachim Low will look to lead the team to a record-extending fifth World Cup title. Neuer is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has been an integral part of Germany’s success over the years.
