The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a five-year deal worth $230.5 million with quarterback Kyler Murray.

He will be one of the NFL's highest compensated players, according to ESPN.

"The deal, which runs through the 2028 season, includes $160 million in guaranteed money."

The average annual value of Murray's deal is $46.1 million, which is the second highest in the NFL

behind only Aaron Rodgers's ($50.3 million). Keep in mind that there are over 32 NFL teams.

ESPN reports that there was significant progress made on Wednesday night and the deal was finalized Thursday morning.

Murray's agent, Erik Burkhardt, and General Manager Steve Keim worked together in months of negotiations.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has signed a five-year contract with the team. He'll be in Arizona until 2024,

but his status became uncertain when he deleted all traces of himself from social media following the Pro Bowl.

On Feb. 28, Keim said there was a strong chance Murray would be traded to another team. But he decided not to trade Murray after free agency and the NFL draft.
