The Minnesota Vikings make a move to strengthen

their quarterback room as they go after Kirk Cousins.

NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Monday the Vikings acquired Nick Mullens from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Vikings have since announced the trade.

According to Ian Rapoport, to meet the trade clause,

Mullens would need to play in one game by the year 2022.

Derek Carr is the starter for the Raiders, but Jarrett Stidham would be a backup.

At the age of 27, Mullens has a good shot at getting the backup quarterback job for the Minnesota Vikings.

He currently has two players on the roster that are veterans:

Sean Mannion and 2021 draft pick Kellen Mond.

Mullens started 16 games during his first 4 seasons and in 2021 he spent time in Philadelphia and Cleveland.
